Rhythm Guitar and Strumming Lessons

Contrary to popular belief, rhythm guitarists aren’t the “C students” of the band. Being a solid rhythm player is important and takes a lot of work. In fact, the concept of lead vs. rhythm guitar player isn't very common anymore. Nowadays, you’re simply the guitar player and are usually expected to do both. 

Our rhythm guitar lessons focus on playing popular repertoire, building chord vocabulary, understanding and creating your own grooves/rhythms, using a capo, and much more.

Lead Guitar and Soloing Lessons

Nearly every experienced guitar player who comes to us says outright, “I practice scales but I have no idea what I’m supposed to do with them to turn them into music.” It’s not their fault, they were likely just given poor instructions.

Most teachers, especially the ones that are naturally musically gifted, don’t understand that the average musician has to learn how to hear melodies in their head and therefore often give vague instructions. Live Musical Performance Lessons

At QBGS, we offer student-led band opportunities via our Rock Band Lab. In these lessons, students work together in a team to: choose songs, teach other songs, figure out who will play what, and create their very own arrangements of songs. Our student band plays twice a year at our huge concerts as well as various low-pressure gigs in downtown Lancaster.

Contrary to what most beginners think, writing songs is one of the easiest (and most rewarding) things you can do on guitar. 

We offer eight-week and 12-week songwriting classes as well as songwriting components to our other lessons. Casual songwriters are shown how to take the material they are currently practicing to make their own songs.
